What is yoga?

“yogaś citta-vrtti-nirodhah”

Yoga is the inner state in which the mind comes to rest -
Patañjali Yoga Sutra, I.2

For one person yoga is a sport, for another it is meditation, and for many it is a path, a philosophy of life that helps you get to know yourself better, recognise your limits and sense your own body and mind more intensely.

From a tradition thousands of years old, a wide range of approaches, schools and paths of yoga developed and carried yoga from India out into the world – from acrobatics to absolute stillness – anything is possible. Only you can find out what suits you.

Am I flexible enough for yoga? Am I even suited to starting yoga?

OF COURSE!! Yoga isn't about flexibility. It's not about finding the perfect position, jumping into a handstand or touching your toes. It's about consciously taking time for yourself, breathing, moving your body and feeling it. A long-term benefit of a yoga practice is, of course, more flexibility, strength and mobility in body and mind.

Yoga is for everyone, whatever your fitness level or injuries. There are countless styles of yoga, from very calm and slow to really sweaty — there's something for everyone. For injuries, too, there are plenty of variations that make almost any pose possible. Especially at the start, it's best to try out a few classes and teachers to see what you like most. You'll find our schedules here.

How do I book a class?

You can practise with us in 4 studios: at Studio 1040, 1070, 1160, 1150 and in our Online Studio in your own four walls.
Our booking system is Eversports. You can book our classes both in your browser and on your phone (book in the app).

Our 4 studios are split into locations in Eversports, and each location has its own schedule. You'll find the studio by “searching” Eversports for Feelgoodstudio… (1040/1070/1150/1160/Online)

Here you'll find the schedules of our 4 studios + online by searching for each location individually.

If you have any problems booking, just get in touch at info@feelgoodstudio.at

Do I have to book online for every class?

To answer the question straight away: booking online is not mandatory, but if it comes to it, i.e. in especially busy classes, people who booked in advance get priority. We have limited the maximum number of participants per class so that we can guarantee you individual attention. So for everyone's sake, it makes sense to book and cancel your classes.

Your booking is binding, so it is charged to your account and guarantees you a place in the class. Out of fairness to others, we ask you to cancel in good time (possible up to 6 hours before the class starts) if something comes up and you can't make it. Classes booked but not attended will not be credited back. The “Late Cancel” option (i.e. you cancelled less than 6 hours before the class starts) is purely information for the teacher that you're no longer coming; the class is still charged, because no one on the waiting list had a chance to come at short notice.

How does the waiting list work?

If a class is fully booked, you can put yourself on the waiting list. Once you're on the waiting list, you'll get a notification when a place becomes free (because another customer has cancelled) and you can book the free place. More info here

What do I need for my first yoga class?

What to bring The most important thing: YOU Comfortable clothes

To practise, you need clothes you feel good in and can move well in. At Feelgoodstudio, we care a lot about you being able to be completely yourself — there's no room for appearances here. Feelgoodstudio is a colourful place where everyone can dress however they like —be yourself!

Yoga mat?

For all regular“non-hot”classes at our
studios 1070, 1040 & 1160 we offerfree rental mats. But: the more intense, enthusiastic and enjoyable your yoga practice becomes, the more it makes sense to have your own mat (+ it's ideal for practising at homeOnline classes & videos).

For“Hot” classes at 1150, please bring your own mat + towel. You can also rent a mat and a towel on site. Mat 3€ | Towel 3€ | Mat + towel 5€

Before class Be a Yogi, be on time

Our classes start on time, so please arrive at the studio early enough to get changed, settle in calmly and so on. If it's your first time with us, please come at least 10 minutes before the class starts.

The practice room is a place of calm

Some of us start our practice with a few minutes of silence, so please respect this and avoid conversations etc. in the practice room. Your phone will also be happy to wait for you (on silent!) in the changing room – it has no business in the practice room.

A full stomach doesn't like yoga

A full stomach gets in the way of getting all the flexibility and mobility benefits from your practice. So try not to eat for 2 hours before you practise.

Sauca means inner and outer cleanliness

One of the concepts underlying every yoga practice is Sauca, which stands forinner and outer cleanliness. If you manage toleave any worries/stress/to-dos etc. outside, you'll be able to enjoy your practice more, and who knows, maybe you'll see them from a different angle afterwards… The practice room is aphone-free and shoe-free zoneand, for everyone's sake, we also ask you to make sure you wear clean clothes and pay attention topersonal hygiene(feel free to shower before class). Please leavelarge items(bags, backpacks) in the changing room and try to leave as little lying around the room as possible.Outer order clears your head and brings you inner calm.

Very first or almost first time on the yoga mat

Please let our teachers know so we can respond to your needs.

What do I need for my first Hot Yoga class?

If you want to practise Hot Yoga with us for the first time, just come about 20 minutes before the class starts and bring yoga clothes, a yoga mat, 2 large towels and a water bottle (or borrow them from us for 3 € each). Note: please don't eat anything for at least 2 hours before class!

In principle, all our yoga classes are suitable for everyone, because all our teachers are experienced enough to offer options and alternatives that respond to your individual needs.

Is my membership, time-based pass or class pass valid in all studios?

Yes! All passes and memberships are valid in all studios. Only the towel service is available just in 1150.

Does a Hot Yoga class cost more than a regular yoga class?

No! Hot Yoga classes have the same prices as all regular classes at Feelgoodstudio. You'll find all passes here, and of course they're also valid at the Hot Yoga studio in 1150.

Can I borrow a yoga mat from you?

Yes, of course! We have rental mats in all studios. At the Hot Yoga studio in the Lugner City, a rental mat costs 3 euros, because we have to clean it thoroughly after every session. In the other studios (1070, 1040, 1160), rental mats are currently free.
