Mindfulness - living more consciously, reducing stress and strengthening our physical and mental wellbeing

Do you know the feeling that the days are just rushing past you? Your thoughts circle around what still needs to be done, while your body has long been calling for a break. In our hectic world, we often forget to simply be in the moment – without stress, without pressure, without expectations.

Mindfulness can help us practise exactly that: living more consciously, reducing stress and strengthening our physical and mental wellbeing.

Mindfulness plays a central role, especially in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and yoga. It connects us with our body, our thoughts and our surroundings.

A helpful approach here is the 7 pillars of mindfulness:

🌿 Non-judging – We often unconsciously judge everything around us – our thoughts, feelings or even other people. Mindfulness means letting go of these judgements and simply perceiving things as they are.

🌿 Patience – Everything has its own rhythm. Mindfulness reminds us not to fight against the natural flow of life, but to accept that some things simply take time.

🌿 Openness (Beginner’s Mind) – Do you remember looking at the world as a child, full of curiosity? Mindfulness invites us to step into the moment with this fresh perspective – without preconceived opinions or expectations.

🌿 Trust – Mindfulness practice is about developing trust in yourself and your own path. Your body, your breath and your inner knowing are wonderful tools that can guide you.

🌿 Non-attachment – We tend to cling to thoughts, emotions or ideas. But nothing lasts forever – and that is exactly where freedom lies. Learn to let go and embrace change.

🌿 Acceptance – Sometimes we fight against reality because we wish it were different. Mindfulness means seeing things as they are instead of wanting to change them. That can be incredibly freeing.

🌿 Letting go – Whether stress, worries or old patterns – letting go means not constantly carrying the past into the present. It is a conscious act of opening up to the here and now.

Mindfulness in our medical practice

These principles are not just theoretical concepts; they fit beautifully into everyday life and into our treatments. Whether through TCM, acupuncture, yoga or breathing techniques – we support you in experiencing mindfulness in a way that fits naturally into your life.

How can you bring mindfulness into your everyday life?

✨ Start with small moments – breathe consciously, enjoy your first coffee or tea of the day with all your senses, or pause for a moment.
✨ Be patient with yourself – mindfulness is a process, not a goal.
✨ Let go of judgements – observe without immediately forming an opinion or reacting.

We all know those moments when it's hard to stay mindful. That is exactly when it is especially valuable to remind each other – in everyday life, on the yoga mat or simply in between. Mindfulness is always there for us and helps us experience contentment and arrive more fully in the moment.
